Yellowfox I live in Jackson Township or near Massillon Ohio. Are you in the Ohio area also?
As for selling the motors already done would be very cool. But you guys should be able to do the switch yourself. It's not really all that difficult once you look at it.
All I've done to switch the motors over is as follows:
1 pull up the tabs holding the cap down on both motors
2 removed motor cap from Spinbrush that doesn't have a bearings in it
3 remove the white motor cap from Xmod donor motor
4 after motor cap is removed on the Xmotor you will see the brushes are being held on by the remaining wire connections along with a small white plastic brush holder (located on top of the motor under all the wires) which will be removed in step 5
5 heat up the soldering iron and remove the caps off the Xmod motor
6 you should now have everything to install on the Spinbrush motor
7 just be careful when putting the brushes back onto the Spinbrush armature not to bend the brush arms
8 you will also want to sand a clean spot on the Spinbrush motor shell to solder the caps to
9 when finished it should look like a stock Xmod motor
hey fastrsx do you think that u will be able to sell these motors all ready so all we have to do is stick em in? You could have 3 differ. pinions and u could sell em ready for about 8-10 bux. Does anyone else think that this is good?
Yes, I used the SpinBrush bell housing, magnets, and rotor assembly. The plastic bell housing on the SpinBrush didn't have a brg on it. So, it was just running on the plastic, which will not last very long. The other advantage using the XMods motor end is that it has real brushes.
What size of gear is everyone finding to work (11,12,13)? I'm heading to the slot car place today to find something in that range. Then after picking up the gears it will only be a matter of shimming up the motor for the proper gear mesh.
Is the SpinBrush Pro motor the same as the normal SpinBrush? :?:
I just installed the SpinBrush Pro motor with a 10 tooth combo. Man does this thing take off with no problems at all. It makes the stage 2 motors look very slow.
To do the switch I removed the xmods stock motor rear plastic shell. Then removed the hole brush unit and caps which were installed on the SpinBrush.
I soldered the caps onto the new motor exactly like they were on the old motor. In fact, I took them off of the old motor. I promise, though, I'll upload the pix as soon as possible. I just need to find a site to park the pictures.[/img]

I am at the point of swapping end caps but i can't get the pinions off.
FastRSX, Where you live at in ohio?
Everything that the XMod motors have (capacitors and motor plug) are now on the SpinBrush motor.
did u put any capacitors on the spinbrush pro motor?

That's a way to do it. So FastRSX, you used the new bell housing, magnets and rotor assembly and combined them with the stock caps, end, and brushes?
Try a bigger pinion gear (more teeth). You'll have more top speed.
