i am gettin new brushes for my motor and was curious on what the differance is between silver brushes and carbon brushes. which one is better or are they kinda the same. and just kinda wanna kno y one rather than the other. thanks for the help
Good job, sweed, but you're missing one KEY thing.
Voltage levels:
Silver brushes~4.8V, higher voltage like Li-Ion or Li-Poly (7.4V) is BAD for them. They do not perform very well on much higher than 4.8V.
Carbon brushes~Good up to 7.4V, but you wouldn't want your car running on any higher voltage.
Make sure to use comm. drops when you use carbon brushes at 7.4V.
English is a funny language. If you say something over and over, it doesn't sound like a real word after a minute or two. Then you look back like "Oh, maybe it is?". Is Brushes a real word?
yea well i have the stock bats. but i think ima go with silver
This has lasted me a year, and still have a lot left.
Unfortunatley, those, being the only ones that I know of to buy are out of stock.

I inherited a custom motor, 45k RPM. dont know much about it other than that.
Where can I get drops or whatever I need to maintain it?
...or, what I am really asking is what are the best 5 brands of drops for my $$$.
I wanna shop around and can handle that...but, there are a million kinds of lubes and drops and I'm no expert.
Any help would be great.

Silver conducts electricity better than carbon...
Silver gives slightly more speed and torque, it's noticed in high speed motors. It wears faster than Carbon Brushes though..
Carbon Brushes wear slower than Silver Brushes, and contuct electricity better than the stock Brushes.
Performance:
Stock Brushes > Carbon Brushes > Silver Brushes
Wear:
Silver Brushes > Cabron Brushes
