The new armature I am designing will be 52t 26ga.

Re: WRAITH-mounted in a 1g chassis

F*ckin geniouse

Lipo, and I bet a regular nelly will handle it, 45T isnt that low, and the motor isnt a hot low turn motor. The mofo will have torque like no other, crazy torque...

Re: WRAITH-mounted in a 1g chassis

I strongly suggest you forget about using li-ions and get some real lithium polymer cells. The discharge rate on li-po's will make your motor really perform to its fullest.

Li-Ions are for those who want 7.4 volts but don't run "hot" motors.

Re: WRAITH-mounted in a 1g chassis

For modeling I use:Autocad2007, 3smax9, solidworks2006, and inventor10, dependent on what the job requires and the end users native software. For postwork I use psp7 and /or photoshopv9. I'm sort of a cad specialist. I'm for hire if anybody needs blueprints, technical illustrations, visualizations or design verifications.

As far as size of the motor goes, WRAITH is really of it's own species. It shares the shaft size, comutator assembly, and armature laminations with the 130. so in a way it is a stretched 130 rotating assembly that utillizes 4 magnets and 4 brushes. A stock 130 stage 1 has 14 laminations that comprise the armature, WRAITH has.........45 ...... that is like putting three stage 1 motors inline with each other. The general idea behind the design was to build a 130 3 times as long with quad mags and brushes. Other criteria set in concept was to be heat efficient ,modular, adaptable, upgradeable, and interchangeable for custom color and styling options of the end user.

You're looking at one hell of a motor, frying a V2.
Get a stacked Nelly.

Re: WRAITH-mounted in a 1g chassis

What exactly is the class of this motor considered to be (ie: 130, 180, etc.)?

'Looks nice, and promising.

But, I have to say it, I am sure that thing isn't safe on a V2, get a Nelly.

Re: WRAITH-mounted in a 1g chassis

The chassis being developed utilizes 2 or 3 lithium 14500 series 700mah 3.7 volt batterys. The planned electronics package is from a 1G , so a nelly or v2 would be in order. The batteries would be located in the horizonal silos built into the heat sinks on either side of the chassis. Provisions for longitudal position adjustment have been made as well to help fine tune forward/rearward weight balance. The configurations shown in the images above have a wheelbase of 4.6" to accomadate the planned 1/25th scale body. so fitting WRAITH into IT will be a easy afair.

Re: WRAITH-mounted in a 1g chassis

Wow that chassie looks so sturdy, and looks really good too. It would do well with the Wraith.
Would the Lithiums go in the edges under the reciever and EP?

Re: WRAITH-mounted in a 1g chassis

Thats why I am developing a chassis to go with it WRAITH. Or more to the point I am developing WRAITH for the chassis. To fit WRAITH in a stock 1g you would have to relocate and trim almost the whole car.
I'm not presuming it could not be done but, im convinced it would be a challange. Currently the plan is to use a 1G ep package, servo (ep relocated), and a nelly or v2 for the larger current requirments.

Please ,overlook all the design flaws, and missing parts, I know its far from finished ,in fact, this conceptual image is the first generated for the Nightmare chassis.

Re: WRAITH-mounted in a 1g chassis

I'm seeing lot of bevel etaen...

I can suggest you the most little ESC I've found(and also cheap). It shoul run safely that motor(one of these)
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=36_51&sort=1a&filter_id=...

the problem is that it's difficult to fina a 27Mhz receiver so tiny. You could probably be forced to go for any Flying model receiver, that could be veeeeeeeeeery small.

Another problem:where are you putting the lipo batteries?
