i was wondering if this combo would be a good idea a EVO Nelly Turbo, plasmatomic engine, and li-ion's?

As for your question, The Plasmatomic would be a bit faster than the Chili at both 4.8 and 7.4 volts but in a perfect world you should get Li-Po cells to run either. Li-Po's have a much better discharge than Li-Ions. If you plan on useable speed, i'd just find a good couple sets of Ni-MH cells since some of these even have a better discharge rate than Li-Ion cells.

I have a Mini-Z that at 4.8 volts(intellect 750mAh) still gets about 30mph with a Plasmatomic.

I knew someone would say something about our Off-Topic-Ness...

Anyway, running the Plasmatomic (26T motor) on NiMh cells wouldn't be a good idea. I have a 26T motor and it heats up the cells like icecream in your car on a hot sunny summer day.

Plasmatomic~26T
Atomic Chili~35T

The Chili would be fine on stock (EVO) FETs and on NiMh's (for short run times).
Really, below 40T is where you shouldn't use NiMh's. Then AA Li-Ion shouldn't be run on <30T motors.

I ran my 26T motor on Li-Ion and got some great performance but the cells got a little warm after a minute or two of driving.

Like Cowboy said; go for LiPo with a Plasmatomic.
Here's just straight answers:
Plasmatomic~LiPo
Atomic Chili~LiPo, Li-Ion, or NiMh

The Chili (being a 35T) would get about 25MPH on NiMh.
The Plasmatomic realistically gets 40MPH or so on LiPo.

Your best bet is definatly the Plasmatomic on LiPo.

You spelled "for" incorrectly. Or just does not make sense in that sentence, at all. So, start editing, again.

For your taste? Hah! It's just a rip-off!

I think hardly anyone that isn't new to Xmods doesn't shop at AM.

Could that be any more confusing, lol? It took me about 2 minutes to figure out what you were trying to say.

I think only the newer modders shop at AM; after a while you figure out that AM just buys from other dealers and sells the stuff for 10 bucks more.

Not sure what a chilli is.

Ni-MH is a step below Li-ion. They have a lower amp draw.

Alkaline = bad
Ni-MH = OK (stock)
Li-ion = Better
Li-poly = Best

I would use Li-Ion to get the best out of that motor; it's 35 turns.

Re: Nelly Turbo, plasmatomic motor, and li-ion's a good combo?

Yeah, a Plasmatomic is going to pull alot, and Lith-ions aren't going to keep up with the current draw. The 2c lipo kits AM sells are perfect, but a bit pricey (for me at least, lol)

Then I would look at Li-Poly with a high C rating (Max amp draw).

Re: Nelly Turbo, plasmatomic motor, and li-ion's a good combo?

Please be more descriptive in your subject titles.

Also, it's a motor, not an engine. It dies not burn fossil fuel.

Li-poly would be a better combo, I believe the plasma requires alot of amps, Li-ions may not be able to deliver it.

Are you thinking of a 2 cell setup?
