Hi rgustafson17!
I'm currently building 2 Gen1s with a X2LSPE and a stacked nelly in both. Just fyi:
1)I don't think you can buy a stacked Nelly anymore. I don't think the guy's making them anymore. I could make them myself, but I don't want to rip off his idea. You might try a spider v3, but I haven't tested it myself, so I don't know for sure if it will work.
2)If you don't hook-up the nelly properly, you could melt some of the fets.
3)You'll need a serious Li-Po power source. This combo sucks power like crazy.

What about it? Will the X-2 work with the nelly? If that's your question, then yes, it'll work.
The X-2 will work with the Nelly; but the X-2 Pro will not. You need a Stacked Nelly for the X-2 Pro.
