I just can't seem to find the nelly booster in stock anywhere. Does anyone know where I can get it? It is sold out in both versions at Performance Xmods.

Sure it is...it's the best motor of all time. Mwhahah.

If Xmods ever return, I'll re-release the X-2 Pro & Nelly boards exclusively through ebay.

The Xmods are releasing a new line this holiday season, better start ramping up production now so you are ready for the flood of orders. :D

I remember all online stores running out of stock during the holidays in the past.

Re: Where has nelly gone?

of course i wouldn't need a lightspeed
anyways, i have a v2.2 and i haven't had any problems with it. it's been perfectly capable of running my 24t spiral EGR(made by myself: patternwound)
i've had no bad experiences at all.
guess i'm one of the lucky ones.

Re: Where has nelly gone?

I don't see it as possible to run a double v2.2 setup and in the grand scheme of things it's no big loss...I've had a couple (bought one and paid for two different replacemnts under warrenty) and they've melted under very slight strain(according to their spec sheet performance).

That being said, why would you want to run a lightspeed pro motor? Xmods and Mini-Z's (imo) should be about useable performance...lightspeed pro certainly is not.

Re: Where has nelly gone?

if, IF, perchance, someone bought 2 v2.2's and stacked the mosfets or if atomicmods created a stacked v2.2
would that be able to run a lightspeed pro?

Re: Where has nelly gone?

The store said that the spider 3 is equal to the preformance of the v2.1 but no ampage or anything, so I guess that I should get a stacked nelly just in case. Can anyone direct me to a tut?

The only external FET board that could ever handle the X-2 Pro is/was the Stacked Nelly.

Re: Where has nelly gone?

I'd check www.ausmicro.net if I were you...I think that motor may be a bit fierce for the spider.

So the word is the stacked nelly is better than a spider?

Yes, to my knowledge, stacked nelly was the best external board there was.

Mech, I still don't know any specs about the V3...like Nelly is as good as a 2x4 upgraded stack...and good up to x amount of amps. :?

Re: Where has nelly gone?

From what I can gather, the Spider is comprised of higher quality FETs, and is smaller, to boot. The Spider would be my first preference, but I was cheap and bought some FDS9934C FETs from ausmicro on ebay instead. Im hoping they are more efficient than the 4562's and the 8962's.

Heres a link to his ebay items list:
http://search.ebay.ca/_W0QQsassZausmicrocom

At the time this was posted he only had the FET packages up for sale, but there was a spider up for grabs just a few days ago. Its only a matter of time before he puts another one up for grabs.

Here's a link to the ausmicro site listing of the Spider v3:
http://shop.ausmicro.net/product_info.php?cPath=25_39&products_id=571

Im guessing you already have the info you need, but I posted them regardless.

Re: Where has nelly gone?

Beast, you probably hooked the thing up wrong...

The Spider is the production version of the Nelly. The Nelly is the best external turbo known to this scale (as of now) and if the spider can be called the production version of the Nelly, it's gotta be good. Besides, I've heard more bad things about the V2.2 then the spider...

Re: Where has nelly gone?

I have a Spider V2... and it royally sucked... It blew out on a stock Mini Z motor..... I was quite angry.

Re: Where has nelly gone?

ph2t has a kid, is running from the Kangaroo Police, and is building insane BL MR-02's... So, yah, he's busy... But he's on MZR and R7R almost daily...

The Spider seems like a good way to go..

V2=crap :wink:

performancexmods.com
teammnm.net

Those are two sites that still get a few kit-style-Nelly's from ph2t (when he can make them).
I would advise not to go to PX's site, as Mike is very "wishy-washy."
Ph2t's life is just too busy for nelly; correct me if I'm wrong, but he has a kid. :?:

Without Nelly, modding has taken a hault... o.O

Re: Where has nelly gone?

Most folks tend to stray away from the V2, but some will swear by them.

eBay is your friend for the Nelly if your lookin

Re: Where has nelly gone?

Just a little tid'bit' for ya':

Ph2t (the creator of the Woah Nelly products) has stopped manufacturing the external turbo. If you want to get one you'll either have to hope and pray to find on new at some shop, or you'll have to buy it used.

Not to steer you away from the Woah Nelly (in many's opinion it is the best external turbo for this scale RC) but there are other products out there. Such as the Spiders (you can find it at ausmicro's shop).

Sorry I could not provide links for you, as I'm also stumped on where to purchase one..
