I was wondering how you guys prepped and painted your xmods bodies, with out painting any of the windows. I also ask that someone show me how to remove the taillights without breaking them. I would like to ask the person with the yellow skyline with the metallic blue rims how and what he painted them with.
thanks for your help in advance.
P.S. if this sounded stupid...my caffeine pills just wore off.
Yeah, thats got to be a record.
Holy crap, 5 year bump 8O ... I knew something fishy was going on when I saw happy thanksgiving. Try not to bump topics that old in the future  .
Nice g35 though. I like the whole car except the back window. For some reason it just looks akward in silver.
Thanks for posting up that tut. blown. I found it awhile back, but then I lost the link.
I made this tutorial quite a while back, but it should help. Of course, it was meant for airbrush, but the same idea applies for spraypainted cars too.

Re sprayed,
i can vouch for that.
by the way, happy thanksgiving day everyone!
Here's a mini tutorial for painting the body:
1. Take apart the body.

2. Rinse/wash all the pieces.. no dirt or oil or anything.. Let dry.
3. Mask the windows/whatever you don't want colored (Like the grill maybe). - I used scotch tape, then cut the tape with an x-acto knife.
4. Paint your car - Some spray paints may require you to sand first, but I used a Rust-oleum paint and it came out fine. Hold your spray can slightly further than 1 foot away, and spray the body with thin, even coats. Allow each coat to dry for a few minutes before applying the next. Follow the instructions on your paint container!
5. LET DRY. Give your car a day or two to dry, maybe even more. Make sure you let it dry where it won't get dusty and flies and such won't land on it. After this, you can peel off the tape you used to mask. The paint will still continue to set for several days, but it should be okay to use one or two days after painting.
It's probably easier to mask your light covers than remove them (you risk breaking the connectors if you remove then). Just make sure to mask both inside and out.
Impatience is the best way to ruin a paint job.
Green scotchbrite works killer.(the stuff you use to clean pots and pans with)
