Hey guys, i'm just posting some pics to show my progress so far on the body kit upgrade. It based on the Christian Rado Bond tC - it was also dubbed as the "Octopussy-mobile Scion tC" in the SuperStreet Mag. This is my first actaul putty work on a Xmod itself and not a model so i'm hoping it comes out good and that ya'll like it. Being my first attemp on this, I made this kit completely removable - so if I what a different look I can just switch the body kits as usual.
this is the look that i'm more or less trying to copy...

Here is what i have done so far...

Ok - I still have to finish the rear side panels on both sides - it has to be raised a bit more and widen abit on the sides. I have to finish add some more putty to the rear bumper to smooth it out completely. I aslo have to finish the front bumper - fill out space on the front intercooler, add the front grill with scion emblem, and add the finshing touches. Then I have to sand, prime and paint which will be the same color of the car. The decals will be added once that is done and then i'll add on some clear coats to add a bit of shine.
I'll keep ya'll updated on this one! 8)
Thanks guys, just to let ya'll know that i'm still working on it - slowly! I've been bussy at my office so i have less time to work on it but it's sitting in primer at the moment also. i'll post pics when i get a chance to.
For your first try, it is really good. I wish I could do that.
The body work makes the tC look ALOT better.
Have you ever thought of painting the ground effects black? I think that would look pretty cool. But, that's my opinion. The silver matches well.
Keep up the gook work.

Heha, stole my idea. I was just looking at that issue yesterday (yeah I even have issues back from 2003..lol, and thought about doing that now that the tc is out.
Not bad for the 1st time work though.
Sanding could be improved and the color coding, other than that..nice job.
ill give you an A+ as always!
a freind of mine is an rs manager in michigan and he told me that rs went with a different outsource for the nextgen evo's to save money.
if im not mistaken i think verticalslik also works for rs and can back this up.
the plastic is thinner/cheaper and the paint sucks period.
ive heard of alot of paint muckups like orange peel, scratches and in some cases it has been almost nonexistant
at this rate i dont think xmods are going to be around for much longer. :?
the main reason why this looks pretty bad (IMO) is because the Xmods company screwed up the Scion TCs body real bad, it could have been way better, but it's wayyyy too off.
wow, nice job man! i love your work, and for ur first attempt, it came out pretty nice. i actually like the 2 different shades of silver, its like a 2 tone kinda deal. i give you a 10/10 b/c anything done to this scion will make it look that much better  i cant wait to see more from you!
for a first time xmod job, thats good. i would give it a 7/10 because:
-a bit blobby
-colors dont really match
-putty isnt really even
-could be cut a bit smoother and filed
what you can do is play around with it. good job on this one though.
he's already stated that he didnt put enough time into it.
your rating is fine but your post sounds like shameless self promotion.
Good Try, But ill still have to give u a 5/10.... one cuz i drive a silver scion tc and two... u didnt put enough time into it, and three.. u did a half ass job on it... but hey i gave u 5 for trying. Rough i kno.. Anyone remember that white R34 with the drifter bodykit and the signature yellow wide body 350z?... yea well i did those in a matter of days. U could do better..
they come in the tc bodykits...best thing about this kit if you ask me... i do like the rado look though....it's GREAT I love the way every scion looks millions times better with a widebody..
whered u get those 5 spoke rims at
@jmod - thanks but it's interchangeable - it wasn't really a risk - i would have just screwed up a wild body kit if i did it really bad - you can concider it as a wild body kit makeover.
@ everyone else - Thanks guys, I have already taken off the decals and added more putty to the low point spots and the the uneven edges. I'm doing it screwed unto the body this time so that i can see get the edges to match up precisely when i take off and put it on again (remember that this is just a body kit workmakeover - i'm not using putty on the car body at all). Anyways, i have to make it dry really good before i do any more sand - so i'll keep ya'll update on the revision of this kit!
nice job ..that was verey risky because if you messed up you would have had a half bondoed car.
It's good to see someone try and make those cars look better. Whats next? A Neon, Pinto, Gremlin, etc. The lack of taste put into some of the new models makes me sick. Show me an "exotic" line of cars, something I could never afford in real life. They started with the SLRs then quit. :?
I gotta say, it looks good, especially for your first time. I wish my first time looked atleast halfway as decent as yours  . But yeah, the color doesn't exactly match, unless you were going for a two-tone, and from reading, you weren't. But nice job nonetheless.
for as short of a time it took, and it being your 1st time, i aplaud you, this turned out pretty good. and it being all putty too. the color match is ok, not perfect, but it got the job done. please do return to this kit sometime in the future and tidy it up!
looks pretty good.

:)
It looks pretty nice, but just a little sloppy.
But still, nice work.
don't be disappointed - i'm actually learning from this - lucky me it's something that can be removed - remember it's only a body kit that i worked on - i'm really not that stupid to go try something out that's permanent on the body if i'm not sure i can do it. I'll take ya'll advice and and use some more putty to fill out some of the bumps and edges and then sand it down allover. it's not impossible to fix so i'll keep ya'll updated on the fixer-uper for this kit. i'm actually buying a new tC so - that one will be mainly clean. (without trail and error - we will never learn to succeed!)
i am kinda disappointed
thanks - i kinda rushed this one - got alot of other stuff that i had to work on. It can still be saved so it's not totally a lost on my part - maybe when i have alittle more time i'll cross the "t's" and dot the "i's" so ya'll might just see it looking different pretty soon! :)
I understand that this is your first body work on an xmod. Therefore for your first attempt you get 7/10 for effort from me.
Things that you can improve on next time or on your next tc kit.
-smooth out the putty before painting, or fill in dents
-try a better matching paint. If not paint the whole car
-smooth out your cuts
Anyways, nice try. It looks gud otherwise.
Hey guys, I finished up the Rado body kit for my tC - it came out aight for my first attemp at putty but i'll do better on my next project since i learn't how to deal with a few things while working on this one. Anyways, here's the pics of the finished body kit on the tC

Well, just to remind ya'll this is just the body kit upgrade - it's interchangeable and therefore i'm able to still have different looks on my tC for now! 8)
my replies are being deleted, i swear i posted on here...
anyways, thats sooooo sweat! very clean lookin thus far.
alls i can commet on is get a sanding block, and sand the bottom lip of both the front and rear bumpers flat
otherwise, great job.

Already man! Nice job and the ideas are perfect. Love the removeable addition too! Can't wait for more! 8O
Thanks for the comments guys!! @ color0 - this is my first actual work on a xmod kit so i'm just testing the waters with this one! I do have pics of something thats gonna be abit more curvier and not so bulky but for now this one will do. Plus remember this is only body kit work and not the entire body - it's interchangable so i don't have to worry about it if i mess up some how.
Here are a few more pics of some more work i did to it last night

and this is just to show ya'll that it can all come off the body

I just have to add a few little touch-ups here and there, then sand, prime and paint. i already bought the paint so i should be able to finish this up by the end of this week hopefully.
Very nicely done so far Xmodification. Good luck getting those vents symetrical.
(Now I gotta get myself a tC  )
1) Good luck, and try to use more styrene than putty for that thang.
2) Why the Rado kit? It's pretty poor design-wise, nothing but a block and straight cuts into it. (I'd rather you try the Kaminari... :))
good job on the work so far it is coming out great.... did you see the link i sent you on your last post... i thought it might help but i see you got enough pics.. the only thing i would have done different is make it look more like the drag car and tried to make a wheelie bar for the back.... but i am not you and you are doing a good job either way....
Have you ever painted a Xmod body ? I know you've painted modle car bodies with no windows that you have to tape off, but what about a Xmod ?
lol
Looks awsome right now !!!!!
I love it.
Hey , what are you using for the body work ?
Where did you get it ?
oohh dAmn, i can see it taking shape already. i luv your idea of modding the kit so that its interchangeable. What are your future kits gonin to be like? I know im ahead of myself.
