This is what I have been working on the last few days... my new truck project...
I was really lucky, to be able to find a AMT/Ertl 1/25 '84 GMC Pickup, on ebay UK, and even more so that I was able to get it... lol...
The below photos of the truck are with the body not yet mounted, and I also have work to finish on the body i.e. roll bar frame, paint work etc...
As you can see in the below photo, I removed the stock truck bed and replaced it with a new chrome effect diamond plate one, made from plastic... which I got from a Italeri 1/24 Truck Accessories model pack...
I have only just started work on the chassis, I took the plastic model chassis and hacked it up, to get the xmods chassis to the length I need it to be... also I have never seen this done before so I though I would try it...
I will update again, once I have so more done...

Not diggin the light rack. But other than that , it looks very nice! I wouldnt mind driving a real one just like that.
the diamond plate and the light rack is from "Italeri 1/24 Truck Accessories model kit pack"
I picked mine up from a small LHS, was on a dark, dusty back shelf...
hehehe... :D they sure do...
I can't wait to see the differeces between the to trucks...
I am going to try and get the silver/red paint work done in the next few days... so I will post up a photo or 2 of that once its done... :D
I think Naz stole my plans i had drawn up for my next GMC project - lol - just kidding, but on a real - I have similar plans for my truck - I still have a few different stuff going in mine but it's kinda wierd to see you adding almost some of the same stuff in your truck (great minds think alike -lol)
Anyways - it's looking really good!! It's got my attention - so let's see more updates soon! :wink:

That truck is starting to look pretty mean. I really dig the light rack.
quick update: I made a frame for the rear + I got 2 jerry cans to sit each side of it... also got a baja style light rack for the front window... which is just blue-tac'ed on atm...
still need to make some mounts and get the rest of it done... will update again laterz...
yeah I live in the UK, but Oslo is still like a 1-2hour flight or a 24+hous car trip away... lol...
I still have the f150 body that I was going to use, but I may be selling it as a needs to be finish body... I am sure someone will take it off my hands and the cash I get will go towards the new ep + nelly for this build... :D
You're in england right? Not too far from Norway.. You should head up to Oslo one weekend for a crawler meet, I'm going to one and brining a SSMT and a EvoT...
What happened to the f150 body/crawler you had going?

I only have that avatar as its the only one that will work for me...
and yes I am using the f150 chassis as this body is abit more custom to the f150... lol... and thats what I am know for my custom work... and yes I though I would try and get back in the game abit... lol...
this one will get finished... as its the only one I am going 2 work on untill its done, and I really want a kool looking truck to go crawling with as the summer is coming very soon...
