heres where i think the xmods kinda fall behind the mini z's... the z's chassis can easily be lengthend just but adding a long h plate... umm, a 1/25 scale model bodie thats DAMN close to 1/28 that it doesnt really need any modifications is the Revell Shelby Series 1 car... if you go to http://www.minizworld.com and go around in the photo galleries, youll find some ideas on how to customize the bodies to fit... or go to customized bodies, i think there is a tutorial that someone put up...
I am in the works of fitting a tamiya puegot body on mine. 1/28th scale so should be ok. I'll post pics if it ever gets accomplished. most of the tamiyas are 1/24 which is pretty close.
Yea I had a light go on today in my head while I was driving my Xmod, I really wanna change my cars body, so I found the car i wanted from a model that I havnt started yet and they are roughly the same size, but one problem, wheel base too long and body is a tad longer, plus the tires that came with the model are twice as thick as the x mods (good and a bad thing, good cause the tires have tread bad cause regular xmods tires dont fit those rims and Mini Z makes the body I want but not in stock, it pisses me off
I have been finding that 1:28 scale cars are few and far between. It seems that the closest model kits you will find are 1:24 and 1:32...
But there are a few out there as some other members have posted.
