i just took my dremel and cut out all but the bottem grill on my body kit. i got the wild rear bumper and the mild side skirts and hood and wild rear bumper. i cut the holes in my side skitrts where it has just black paint the upper grill and blacked out the body mount. and the two lower holes for more air..... really i dunno how it would over heat... its got plenty of air space in it.... they dont have a closed in body. btw, i got the RSX :D
I was thinking for my civic, mabe drilling out the sliver pieces on the front and back of the kit and maby putting like a screen or somthing in there it would look more realistic and mabe do a better job cooling at the same time
underneath the hood scoop, on the bottom of the hood, i'm going to try and make a duct to direct the air to the rear of the car and motor. i think it will help at least a liitle, if not just llok cool right?
it really wouldnt help air intake very much, but it would help the heat release easier.. probably wouldnt help out too much tho.. you could also look into making a roof scoop, or even turning into something of a targa top and cutting away at the whole roof
Making a hood scoop is not really gonna work in cooling your car's electronics/motor.. I guess its only good for looks if you want to do this idea.. If you really want to see a difference in cooling the inside, youre gonna have to make a hole on the front windshield, just like how we race 1/10th scale nitros..
i actually looked at that hood before, i wish i could put it on my '93 celica...
but a hood scoop should work and help out atleast a little.. i would like to do that, but dont even know how i would go about doing so

Look at my post called cooler engine=less chance of frying one for an idea of how to make an efective air intake.

post up some pics if you decide to go through with that idea..

i'm probably going to put a hood scoop on mine, and then cut out a hole underneath it to make it functional. do you think that would work?
it'll look sorta like this:

or fashion an air dam for the hood..
