it's 7.2 volts. rob says 8.4 because that's what li-ions come off the charger at. the minute you put a load on li-ions, the voltage drops down to 7.2V.
if you wanted to run a 7 cell car, sure, go ahead... it's just like trying to run a 9V battery in your car. if you don't fry the board from the voltage, you fry it from the amount of current your motor draws when it has to pull more weight at higher voltages.

If you read the info about this car that i [u]HAD (my NSX).
I just bought myself an aluminum AWD upgrade. while in the process of putting this part on i had a brain fart. i left the batteries in the car. (4 of the lithium batts of 6) and my mini driver slipped and BBRRRUUHHHZZAAAPPP!!! IN AN INSTANT THE ENTIRE CAR WAS COMPLEATLY FRIED. i finished the installation to see if i could get it 2 run and test the new mod. didnt even budge. thee wheels didnt even right themselves when turned on. sooooooooo i freaked out and put my head to my old Ford bronco parked in the back yard. i got stitches across my forehead and i have nothing 2 playwith while im home.
P.S. what kind of car should i buy now?? i was thinking an RSX but what car has the lightest stock body. im just gonna take my parts off the NSX and put them on my new 1 so HELP ME OUT HERE!!
If I read the post right it says you had 4 lithium batts of 6 and you left them in the car
there are 3 possible things those statements could mean
1 you have somehow miraculausly hooked up 4 lithiums and not fry your ep and motor in 7 seconds
2 you are using disposable 1 use no recharge 1.5volt lithiums they sell for older cameras
or 3 your lying

Well, this isn'y my horror story but it's my friends. Well, my friend got an xmod on hid birthday and he was driving around and he broke the front bumper and thought he broke the whole car, so he put the car back in the box and put it in the garbage. Luckily I was quick enough to go back and snatch the car before any more garbage was added. In the first Xmod he had AWD, Command Logic Lights, and Stage 2 Motor Upgrade.Now, 2 weeks later he purchases another car. He buys the Stage 11 Motor from this website and it arrives in the mail and he throws the instructions right in the garbage and just starts ripping wires and turns the car on and it doesn't work of course so he throws out that car also. Lucky enough I go and grab it and take the car...little did I know he had Metal Bearings, Command Logic Lights, Bodykit, Stage 1 and 2 Motor Upgrades, Steering/Suspension Upgrade, and a set of rechargables.
I can't believe he threw out all of these parts along with 2 cars. I basically got 2 cars for free and now I have every upgrade and got half of them for free.
And of course when I told him not to throw them out he said, "Shut Up, Biatch!" :lol:

but what if he is runnin it so that its still 7.2 volts but trippiling the mah??? then he wouldnt be hurting his car at all ;) just making it so that he can run it all day long lol.. but i dont know if this would have any affect on what amperage is going to the car. i think its called series/parallel if u rig it like im talking about right? oh and by the way beef guy... man ur brand new here and already disrespectin the rules... language buddy, language ;) not raggin on u that ur new, just the language issue ok? everyone is new somewhere, im new in a few places and i was new here once...
Yeah...running them that way could probably work.....and run times would be stellar.......but there's no way the power to weight ratio would be justified! I mean....freight trains can run all day....but they sure are heavy!!

I've had a 9v on mine, short periods of time won't damage the car. Once the fets can no longer handle it is when you will have a problem. However I imagine the 19.2v (6 Li-Ion 3.2v) he is talking about would fry it almost instantaneously.

Cheezeman's right about it frying your car....that's just to many cells. Of course I have heard of freak cases where people actually get there Xmod to run on 9v batteries......but not for long.ZZZZZZZ POP!!!Fast n Smokey!
Oh.....and I seccesfully run 7.4 volt LiPo's in my car......but anything over that....well let's just say youll be ratteling off part numbers for new receiver boards at RadioShack every other day!

So I bring home a yellow Skyline fresh from the Shack a year and a half ago. I think, wow, cool, these things are awesome! :D So, I take it out of the box, it's all assembeled except for batteries, when I really have to go. So when I come back, 8O THE SKYLINE IS DRIVING ITSELF ALL AROUND THE FLOOR! AGH 8O !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND WHEN I PICK UP THE CONTROLLER IT RUNS AFTER ME AND STARTS RAMMING INTO MY BIG TOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8O :x :x So I'm like, OW YOU STUPID @#@$#@%^&!!! XMOD!!!!! I'LL TEACH YOU! So I bent over and tried to pick it up, but it was too fast-so I knew what the only real way to dismember it was....so I run to the garage, gravb the axe, and come back in when I notice that the little yellow Skyline has gone on a bloodthirsty killing spree and has run over and crushed my parakeet and two of my cats-but I figure, hey, just cats. But then I see it making its way towards my knick knack collection! NO!!!!!! :evil: SO I TAKE THE AXE AND CUT IT UP INTO LITTLE PIECES WHICH I THEN FLUSHED DOWN THE TOILET! This happened to me Friday.
I was running in the gym, wanting to try out my drift kit. Well then the 3 really hot girls come over to us say, "hey, I dont mean to kick you guys out, but we have dance team try outs"
I was like aww man, cant I stay and Try out (well I didnt really say that, but I wanted to :P )
But I swear I am getting kicked out every place... ...The Janitor, Hot blond girls with nice...well you get the point...

OK, bask in 2003, when XMods first came out, i got one for christmas. I wuz dying to get one of these for months because zipzaps had gotten boring. so it comes to christmas day and i opened it. I was so excited to get this thing suped up and go cruzin with it. I had gotten it all assembled and turned it on. I grabbed the controller and floored it. BUT IT DIDNT WORK! I wuz so pissed off and read through the freakin manual about 10 times and reassembled everything 10 times before realizing that the negative motor wire had a weak solder and had been broken ever since i had opened it. So i was so pissed i didnt even bother returning it, i weht out and bought S2 motors and a few other performance things with my christmas cash. It was basically a real big dissapointment for me at first, but it all workde out. I became obsessed with it till this day. 8)

Anywayz, its after school. I got outdoor school. So I go to this building call building 10. 4 long halls, and 4 corners. But I only use 2 halls and one corner.
I was trying out my newly purchased drifting tires, and I start going around the turn. And all the teachers, see me, because they need to down this hall to get out of building....so they all say to me, cool car. but none of them have a problem, then comes the janitor, who is working on the OPPOSITE side of the building and sayins I need to go...Me and my bud are all like wtf mate...and sence its after school, there is no place to go, because you got B-Ball, or something in the gym...
I now dont like the Janitor of building ten...
o god i would just cry if i got kicked out of a website full of geeks who spend their life on a computer... sad
