I had mentioned before that I was going to make a SSMT project - I changed my mind about the Bronco and i'll be doing a replica of a Chevy Double Cab RC that I saw over in the RCC forum. I will make a GMC version of it but with the same paint scheme and all the accessories to go along with it too.

Here's the Chevy that i'll be using as a picture guide:

And here's a editted pictured to show more or less what i'll be doing to make the model look like that one: (note that this is just an edit pic of my last unpainted GMC xmod truck)

I'll probably get started on this one sometime this coming week - I have all the parts needed and the models so i'll updated this thread as soon as I get the ball rolling! 8)

Oh yeah, pics credit to the rc owner: obijuan @ RCcrawler

Here's a couple pics of the materials and other stuff that I have ready to use to make this SSMT project:

Here's mostly the Electronics, batteries & cases , servos, and a few wire connectors:

Here's the Wheels, axles (front and back), tranny, bag of gears, and a bag of stuff for supension and linkage axle arms:

Here's mostly diamond studded styrene sheets, alluminum tubes and sheets that i'll use for the axle shafts and other stuff:

And here are the 2 '84 GMC truck models that i'll be using to make the Crew Cab:

More updates to come soon.

That looks bad to the bone.

How is the body/interior coming along?

updates 9/28/07

Thanks for the comments guys. Here's the other options I had for a Tranny - I think i'll end up using the one that I have already adpoted the drive shafts to. I also added my HS-55 servo to the mini-z board that i'll using for this one, here's a couple pics:

SORRY for the unexpected time out on this project guys, I had reached a kinda "down point" in the hobby and I had also exhausted my Hobby funds too. Anyways, to cut the story short - I have money, I finally got most of the stuff I needed (for 2 SSMT projects) and I feel like myself again, this means that i'll be starting up this project back and completing it in due time.

Here's a few stuff that I got recently ( it was lost by the P.O. so I had to track it down and i finally got it):

New drive shafts, mini U-joints and a few other goodies:

I also have 2other options for trannies ( i'll post later) but I think I'll make a custom one for this project using one of those micro geared motors.

More stuff to come soon.

That looks sick. Nice work on making the crew-cab so far.

Man, I just realized the 89 C10 you have in the picks was a scale R/C truck. At 1st I thought the grille was just aftermarked (its square-r than real) and the tires were real as well, then I realized those werent based off a real set of tires

Thanks for all the comments guys!

I glued the body together today and I did alittle of the body work too. I have to let the glue dry and the putty has to cure also yet. After that is done i'll sand it down abit, fill in any uneven surfaces and stuff, then I'll get it ready for the primer.
I'm still working on that gear box thing - since i'm using a servo as a part of the tranny i'm trying to make one that can have abit of speed without sacrificing torque.

Here's a couple pics of it so far:

Sorry for keeping you guys waiting so long - i've been alittle busy working on a custom gearbox tranny for this thing. So far i've had a few custom spur gears for the servo i'll be using and i've been trying to make a custom case for the gears aswell.

Here's a couple pics of the body progress - i've only chopped it up and it's not glued together asyet - it will need alot of body work done once it's put together:

More updates to come soon ( I promise it will be sooner than this last update for sure)!

Bitchen, cant wait.

The old crewcab/long beds are total beasts on the road. I think my 18 foot long CST10 is long, these push 22-24 feet.
