If you have a problem returning an item or have a complaint about your Radio Shack store, this is what you need to do to resolve it.

This assumes that you have a valid complaint. If you have not read the warrentee in your owners manual, then you will be at a disadvantage when talking to the manager. Make sure that you have a valid reason to return the item.

#1 deal with the store you purchased the item from. Talk to the manager. Be respectful. Explain the problem in a nice way. You will get farther with a good attitude than if you go in with a chip on your shoulder. If the manager does not resolve the issue to your satisfaction, then you need to go to the next step.

#2 If the manager does not resolve the issue to your satisfaction, then you need to go to his boss. Ask the Store Manager for his District Managers phone number (He is requuired to give it if asked, he may even have his business cards available), make a complaint about the issue to the District Manager. This is part of the District Managers job, he is suppose to be the last line of customer service. If the issue goes above him, his manager will not be happy. The District Manager will resolve it one way or the other. You could also send an email to Radio Shack Corporate at this link - http://www.radioshack.com/Contacts/CustomerRelations.asp?OID=1. Personally I would deal with the District Manager.

#3 If the District manager does not resolve the problem, and you do not agree with his explination of why they will not resolve it, then you need to ask for his Regional Managers phone number.

and so on.

If you have an issue abou the store that is not related to returning products, but more of customer service issues or employee conduct, then Make a complaint with the stor4e manager if you believe anything will be done about it, or go directly to the District Manager.

Re: Having problem with your Radio Shack Store?

I've had "alright" encounters with RS but I wish they would get more xmod stuff in. A Few guys at the RS near me know there stuff but some of them are just plain stupid. I called RS yesterday to see what they had and this was the conversation.......

Hi this is Radioshack how may I help you?

Hi just wanted to know what Xmods you had?
*pause*
Xmonkeys?

No xmods.......
*pause*
Xbox?

NO XMODS THERE R/C CARS

Oh hold on.........
she yells to somone else and he yells back that the don't have any.......

She couldn't figure it out what I was saying and in the end they didn't have any new stuff anyway. It's sad th becasue were the phone is at in the store is smack in front of therir Xmods dispaly..........

Re: Having problem with your Radio Shack Store?

I just have to leave a little rant, RadioShack is starting to act funny...

Yesterday I decided to hit up my local Radio Shack and see if they finally got a shipment of some stuff it. Well, they didn't. It's been like this for the past two months. I'll try and get something from one of the Radio Shacks around me and none of them will have it.

This time I wanted to go in and get another Mustang bodykit because I scratched one of my front bumpers while running with the body on, and it was getting annoying. So I head in there and the first thing the guy says is do I want a cell phone. I guess he didn't notice the one I was talking on.

So I head over to the back of the store where they keep all on our Xmods/ProPulse stuff and I look at the racks. Heres the count of what they had:

Two Scion tC starter kits.
Two Corvette body kits.
One Nissan Titan starter kit.
One Hummer starter kit.

That is all that they had, and it's been like this forever. I have to travel so out of my way just to get what I want half the time. Even this store is a long way out of my way (Three miles away.). The rest are even farther. The closest, which happens to be one of the furthest, is thirteen miles away. And I live in the city!

Sorry, had to rant. At least the prices are cheap...(The most expensive thing was a starter kit at $30)

Re: Having problem with your Radio Shack Store?

I have only bought XMods at the RS in our local mall, and got lucky that the two people I have talked to in there both knew their stuff (hell, they up sold me from just a couple parts with the starter kit to every upgrade available for the models I bought, LOL). The other RS isn't bad for most of the things you could be interested in, but they don't seem to know much about XMods yet, or have much for them instock, so I am working on them since I used to buy supplies from them for rebuilding wiring harness in airsoft guns and like to deal with them.

Re: Having problem with your Radio Shack Store?

I work at RS(or more appropriatley the Source). When kids return xmods fully assembled becasue "they dont work" we re-sell them at a discounted price. 99% of the time the item works just fine, the kids just cant figure out how to put them together. 1% of the time the xmod will be totaly messed up from what ever the person did trying to assenble it. These items are slod dirt cheap as "parts only". Now this is just my particular store, and Im pretty sure its not really what we are "supposed" to do. But folks can get a pretty good deal casue some kid can't figure out how to use a screwdriver...

Re: Having problem with your Radio Shack Store?

My radio shack is only interested in selling cell phone contracts. I understand things change over the years, but maybe they should change their name to Verizon or Cigular Wireless. I have been going to radio shack since I was a little kid. My dad is an engineer and inventor and can't stand radio shack any more as there is little in there available to buy. It is getting harder to find led's, resistors, etc. It is a shame that they came out with Xmods and we have to hunt for the accesories on EBay!
Once in a while I will drop into the Radio Shack in Derby, CT and buy some stuff because they actually stock most of it. The Danbury Mall Radio shack is a shame....it is in a mall and has a horrible selection of goods and people who could care less about selling anything xmod.
Anyways I appreciate those who have helped me over the years, but most of my purchases now have been over the internet. Though I just can't get myself to buy a body shell from atomic mods.......

Re: Having problem with your Radio Shack Store?

Well, I went to RS yesterday to buy the Clear Chassis thing. I ask if they have and they say sure. A few minutes later they come out of th estore room with the box, nothing in it. I''m, "Dude, it's empty" and the guys like "Oh," and takes the part out of his POCKET! I pay the half price at $3 becuase the guy lost the clear chassis. I had my 9 year old brother in there and two f the employees were sitting around watching American Pie (great movie) and talking about the best positions. Imagine my pleasure...

Well the other Radio Shack near my house has some huy who looks like a FAT Rob from AM and I know more about everything in the store then he does. The managers and ass and says that I can't put EVO rims on a Gen1 cuase it says EVO on the package. Idiots. Still, They only have Gen1 parts and a bunch of zip zaps.

No, warrantees are always from original date of purchase, even if they have to replace your original one.

Re: Having problem with your Radio Shack Store?

I HATE THE people OVER AT RADIOSHACK. ALL I WANTED TO DO IS SWITCH MY EVO SUSPENSION FOR A FRICKIN GEN1 SUSPENSION. FIRST STORE HAS STICKER PRICE ON SHELF BUT THEY ARE CLEAN OUT OF IT, BUT EVERY OTHER UPGRADES THERE, WENT TO ANOTHER STORE THEY DONT GOT SAID THEY'D LET ME EXCHANGE IT, BUT NO LUCK, SO THEY CALLED ONE STORE AND GOT A GUY NAMED STEVE ON THE PHONE AND HE SAID THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY. THE OTHER GUY AT THIS STORE IM IN SAYS WATCH THIS AND CALLS ANOTHER GUY AT THE SAME STORE NAMED DOUG AND HE SAYS THEY GOT 1 ON INVENTORY, SO I DRIVE TO THAT STORE, THIS WHOLE EVENT IS NOW BEEN GOING ON FOR 2 HOURS. GET TO THIS OTHER STORE AND WHAT HAPPENS, DOUG SAYS ILL GO FIND IT, GOES OVER AND IT AINT ON THE RACKS, SO THEN HE ASKS STEVE, AND THIS STEVE GUYS JUST STARTS FLIPPING OUT ON ME, SAYING I SPECIFALLY TOLD THE OTHER GUY I DIDNT HAVE ANY, AND THEN U GO AND HAVE HIM CALL AGAIN AND NOW WE MAGICALLY HAVE ONE. ALL IN ALL, I STILL GOT MY EVO SUSPENSION AND NO EVO CAR, BUT THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY DAY WAS WHEN I WAS HEADING HOME AND SAY A PLYMOTH ACCLAIM WITH A BIG RICER WING AND RICER EXHAUST RACING A FORD ESCORT WAGON WITH A huge WING. IF YOU BUY ANYTHING GEN1 FROM RS, GET IT OFF THE NET, thx for letting me vent.

I would wager that this is the case. Radio Shack Canada was run under license by another company in Canada, The only thing RS USA did was supply them with product.

Maybe now they are going to go full blown with RS in Canada.

Well you should read, It says "Call to confirm" Sometimes it doesn't update on time. Keep that in mind. It was your fault, not radio shack's.

Re: Having problem with your Radio Shack Store?

thanks mongo for this post :D

this makes life easier when something DOES break...

I've had quite a few DUMB employees that i've delt with... and they were DUMB. I asked one to order a part for me, and they stood there with a blank face, and after a few seconds of retardedness, said, "I don't know how..." and thats all.... fortunatly, the manager owns 9 XMODs, and knows a LOT about them, they are really nice people... but they didn't used to be... they were in-attentave to their customers, my dad stood in one trying to buy an A/V switchbox, and tried to get one off the phone WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND to check out... he was REALLY pissed off...

Thx.

what do you do if the local rat shackd iz privately owned , and due to the fact that the manager hates me refuses to order any new xmod stuff and the next closest shack iz 2 hours away. they have the basic stuff but they only have like 2 full starter sets and a couple of packs of stickers?

Back in March i applied to RS via the on-line application, and later that week i was invited to an open house. I went, and filled out all the necessary forms and did an interview with a manager from a local store. He said that since i was only 16, it would be tough for me to get the job but he liked my knowledge and would try to get me a job.

About 1 month later i got called in for an interview with who would be the new DM because the other one resigned. He asked me what stores(like which ones) i could work at. I told him the 7 or 8 that i was capable of getting to everyday without problems. then about 2 weeks later, i went back for another interview in which i was told that he was sending my information for a background check. That kinda tipped me off that i would be possibly getting hired depending on what turned up. My record is clean
so i was pretty sure that i would be getting the job.

then finally in July i got a call saying that they couldn't find any openings is any of those 7 or 8 stores that i had mentioned and that they would save my application and call me back in a couple months.

in September i e-mailed the new DM telling him my situation and he said he couldn't find any of my papers on file, and that i would have to re-apply.

That just pissed me off. from march to july just to get the interviews, i had to call the DM atleast 10 times. and now they lost my stuff. after that, i just gave up on the job. I had waited pretty patiently from march to september to no avail.

Wow, I would have gone out of my mind after all that mayhem...glad to hear that you kept your cool after all of that :)

Was it a sales associate?

First, talk to the Manager. Mention that he should properly train his employees. If that does not get anywhere, make a complaint to his disctrict manager. Just explain how its strange that a customer knows more about Radio Shack ordering policy than its employees. :)

If you have a problem, just go to the next person in charge....ect. Until something gets done, or just try another Radio Shack store. Some stores will suck no matter how much you complain.

If you have an issue abou the store that is not related to returning products, but more of customer service issues or employee conduct, then Make a complaint with the stor4e manager if you believe anything will be done about it, or go directly to the District Manager.
