Im new to this site, but not Xmods. I was just going to tell everyone about my car and the mods performed.

Xmod: Gen 1, Black Civic

Upgrades:
- Stage 2 Motor
- Upgraded suspension and chasis
- Body kit
Installing This Week:
- Atomic Evo Chili Motor ( + quick connector )
- 2x2, 4562 FETS
- Rims and Tires
- AWD Upgrade

I've been driving consistantly for about 3 months. I've had the Xmod since it's releaase in 2003. Im trying to find racers in Oklahoma.... kinda hard. Anyway, I was just letting everyone know that im here.

I'll have pictures up soon! :)

Re: My ATOMIC CIVIC (!)

Bump to the question above.

Anyway, Im loving the Scion EVO. Nicely built RC..... I wish the damn things were not going extinct!!! I've been calling every "Shack" I know, trying to see if they have any Xmods + upgrades... usually with ZERO luck.

Re: My ATOMIC CIVIC (!)

So, the FET not being properly soldered is not going to pose a problem for the electronics board and cause over-heating, or something along those lines?

I also bought a Scion tc, with 3 upgrades at the shack.

It would make it race legal in some areas.. Since some places don't let you run reverse.. And you don't need to reverse in a race..

You might have forgotten to cut the metal heatsink that goes under the electronics package. Otherwise the top of the FET stack will contact them. ;)

I thought this was the problem. Thanks.

Re: My ATOMIC CIVIC (!)

Yeah, I didnt cut the heatsink off. I'll do that tonight. No, I have yet to install the new motor, I wanna work the kinks out before that happens.

Anything to explain the "no reverse" problem? Possible FET connection problem? I might try adding some solder to the legs to see if that'll help.

So, just going foreward the new 2x2 FET install is great! I also performed a battery switch bypass..... just need to get the heatsink off and correct the body and motor problem. I cannot completely screw the chasis on because of the motor being pressed to tightly against the gear.

Re: My ATOMIC CIVIC (!)

you say it runs really fast now with the new motor, but your still running regular batteries, aren't you? just wondering. i was thinking of buying a new motor and i couldnt decide whether i should go with the chili or something a lil less expensive like a pn racing motor.

anyways, welcome to the forum.

Re: My ATOMIC CIVIC (!)

Thanks for the warm welcome! I installed my 2x2 FETS, and now the damn thing dosent want to be put back together properly! I cant even go in reverse! What the hell did I do wrong? The biggest problem is the chasis and everything are not fitting right. I cant even screw the rear chasis all the way in because it's too damn tight on the pin gear. What should I do?

It's fast as heck now, but that dosent mean a thing when the internals dont fit properly.
