[quote:5028716d80="im_a_noob"]yo deadbydawn can you post a picture of what the air intake looks like??
pick up a aluminum splash gaurd for cooking at your local wally word fine aluminum mesh. i love it!
I agree, but I am more "resale-value-minded." I wonder if putting a tiny set of fan blades on one of those Zip-Zaps motors would have the same effect? It would certainly fit under the hood better.

For really tiny screen mesh, go to your local hardware store and look in the plumbing section. Find the replacement screen that goes on your sink faucet aerator. You can get pieces as large as 1" diameter for about $0.80. That screen is MUCH finer than window screen material.

Eh, wowsers. Got screen mesh, but i got too...enthusiastic and snapped the hood. Woops.
Window screen, paint it and it will stiffen up a little.Oh, and what's with the smoke part?

lol, actually, no. You can't see it unless you look on a bad day. You can smell the difference though when you go into the countryside and back.

nice tut, i might try it later on.
hey good job , nice tut well explained. i dont really think it will make that much of a difference , but kool idea
1:
You MUST have a body kit that has an air intake system, like a scoop, but it must be forward-facing.
2:
Cut out the holes (FORWARD FACING!!!) of the intake.
3:
Sand off the rough bits on the inside.
4:
Get some really fine metal screen, and tape or glue it to the inside, making sure some of it comes up to flush with the top of the hood.
5:
Paint the screen whatever color you want, i used black.
6:
Wait for the paint and glue to cure.
7:
Take a fan, a small one, and put it in front of the car. Set it up so the air strikes the front bumper first, not on an angle.
8:
Get a candle or match, and turn on the fan. Blow out the candle or match, and put it so the smoke drifts into the fan. Make SURE the air goes inside the intake. Not all of it, all you need is a wisp inside.
9:
Your done! You'll get airflow around the engine and the batteries. You can add a small fan on the hood above the intake, but i doubt they make them that small.
