okay this is my first tutorial so i hope it goes whell!
How to make a see through hood for your Xmod
http://photobucket.com/albums/d46/whoop_de_doo/Xmods/?action=view¤...
NOTE: this may only work on some cars
things you will need:
plastic pop bottle of desired size and colour
various screws
dremel with sanding/cutting bits and drill bits (optional)
hole punch (optional)
Felt that will was off of plastic
start by taking the label off of your pop bottle
cut out the flat smooth center bit
next remove your stock hood
put your stock hood on the sheet of clear plastic from your pop bottle and trace it with your washable marker
if there is not a big enough hole under the hood, take out your dremel and start cutting away to get the desired sized opening.
Sand everything you cut to make it look good afterward
now that you have a big enough hole in the body to see in, place the pop bottle cut out of your hood on where the hood would normally go to see if it fits, if it doesn't make it fit!
place the cut out on the body and mark holes where the screws will go (you can use any kind of screws as long as they go through the body and non't interfere with the wheels adn such below) with the marker and use the hole punch to make the holes.
this part may involve drilling new holes for the screws
once that is all done screw it on and see how it looks! if it looks good then good job! remember if you don't like it you can always put your stock hood back on.

I wasn't talking to you, and I had a typo, that's supposed to be 4wheel steering.

I tried it, and it worked well! Here are the pics...

Remember, finding the right screws depends on your XMOD, and takes about 5 minutes at the least, an hour or two at the most. Lots of trial and error is involved, so this is more of a summer day project. Oh, and the screws were drilled with an X-Acto knife, and new adult-sized scissors make short work of the plastic. Dremels aren't exactly needed, although it's good to have one lying around.
HA TOLD YOU SOmaxal umm scisors exacto knife will cut a soda bottle up
and good thinking on the car model you have ended mine and shrimps yes and no conversation bt i still think i can be done

:( it is such a shame that the engine is in the back and not the front.
Dont forget to wash out the bottle!!!!! If you dont, it will get all sticky and nasty!
so i have read about 89% of the forums and i have an anwser for you that wouldnt take a genious and 1000 man hours to do it in so listen up
this is my theroy ( compiled of reading the forums )
first off you need to hve an xmod
soldering equip.
wires
maybe a bracket or 2
ok so you want a clean hood
take ths tut adn do it with the plasitc bottle or waht ever you have laying around that is see through and bendable and easy to cut
complete this tut
and then what you will need to do is take your motor off the setting it is in now
clear some space in the cassies in the front by moving stuff around ( iff possible )
or you can just turn the whold chassies around for the motor stays where it is and then get and AWD kit install it and then go search for the topic where someone has 4 wheel stering and then do it and then just disconnect the front ( now back ) stering and then you will probally have room for mabye a cell or 2 that will add weight which will eithere put more weght in the back or even out the weight and then place your body back on complete with your clear hood and viola
ok ok i know your gonna say ok man you dont even have an xmod but i think this would work and if not just gimmi credit for trying lol ill try and find that post
***EDIT***
http://ripper7racing.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5350
thats the link to the all wheel stering
make sure you read the whole thing first there is a part where they had to start over so read it all very carefully and reread it all very carefully
P.S im not help responsilbe for any damage or anything dumb you do to your car
ummm if im reading correctly, that'd mean that the car's motor will sit in the front and it has rear wheel steering.... kinda odd lol. yeah taht wont work; rear wheel steering will rip the car from side to side. trying reversing and turning.
You could switch the servo to the other side, and have FWD, but that's way too much harder than it is worth. You'd need a whole new chassis.
So.. short answer- no.
longer answer- possible, but this'll take a genious, and 1000 man-hours.

it was just a quick idea but would it work?
ok i have been reading this forum all night because im looking to get me an Xmod ( the NSX ) and i seen something about a motor mod and said something about if your car goes backwards when you push gas.. so why not try tht with the clear hood turn the chassis around switch the wiring around and test it out like that im htinking you might have to do something to the suspension since it is all reversed now but i think it would work
Sounds a lot harder than you think. You'd have to switch the servo and tie rod to the front, and somehow get it to fit with the motor too.

nice is didn't think of that let me know how it comes out!
i just thoght of something this would be a easy way to make a custom hood scoop with air induction afterall plastic is easy to cut! i am going to do it now i just gonna finish drinkin the pop lol
i am gonna try this i never thought of it before
it depends, the plastic straightens itself out eventually so you don't really have to worry about it, i did this to my friend's Acura RSX and it looks great, he put LEDs in there so it shines thru the plastic glowing :D
this is tight. since the plastic bends one way sdhould we put the bend vertical or horizontal
or you could just go ferrari style and make the see-thru thing over the engine in the back :D
just did it came out great nice job man heres a pic

No, I mean the fake engines from models, if u could attatch it to the hood or something...
I wasn't talking to you, and I had a typo, that's supposed to be 4wheel steering.
Oh. Figures.
