ive been lookin for somethin like that cause im new and im gonna work on it to beat my friends in a drag race. My stage 2 already gets hot, will it get gotter with this extra cell???
haha good find!... just did it. If you dont have any dean plugs take a old xmod ep and a old xmod motor and take the clips off  . Also if you plan on useing a xmod battery hold thats has been on ur xmod make sure you put put the black in the negitive and red on positive because they are reversed from the picture. this mod works really well :)
would a 6 cell benefit a truck in any way? will it make it easier to climb? i have 1000mah duracell batteries, will i destroy any of the curcuits if i make a 6 cell?
well on my g35 to take off the pcb cover i have to take off the rear end but if you dont have too then dont. i cant really think of any other reason for why u have to take off the rear end
its becuase his car had a spacer and the cover part of the pcb cover. unless u have a medium or short car like my lancer. u have to do that part. i wouldnt have too :D
nice tutorial but when i insall a six cell my battery were drained quickly in 5min and the batteries r hot i burned my self. what should i do???????
the batteries shouldnt get that hot, there might be something wrong with your pcb. also, if youre using alkalines, they have no runtime on high drain electronics like these. if youre using nimh rechargables and still having the problem, check your pcb, like i said, something might be screwed up

Hey, thuganometrey, quit hatin' on the guy, he didnt make you try the tut, you decided to do it yourself, and apperently you didn't do it right. It's not his fault you screwed it up, so stop blaming people for your mistakes.
Verticalslik, that's a very deatiled tut, I don't think I'll be trying it in the near future, maybe sometime, but good job on it! :D
:D This is a very detail tutorial - i was affraid to do the upgrade on my car just because i thought i was a lot of hassle - but now i'll definately do one of my evo car -it's gonna be a sleeper! BTW, one question to ask you guys - if i put neo magnets in a stage 2 motor and i do the 6 cell ugrade - is that safe or should i just leave the motor as is??? :?
Then no, you don't need a FET upgrade. If you ever do buy an aftermarket motor though, they usually tell you if it requireds a fet stack. Most people do 2x2 stacks.
nope, fets are required for a hot motor drawing to many amps for the stock fets to handle. What motor are you currently useing? It'll draw more amps if you increase the voltage but not by much so it may require upgraded fets just not likly most of the time.
That is one good tutorial indeed. It looks very clean and you don't have to do anything really complicated. It's much easier than the Gen 1 6 cell upgrade IMO. Although Deans Plugs do work, I decided to use 2 9V connectors and it workds AWESOME!
GOD DAM i just got done doing this but not with deans plugs but with forst gen motor plugs they work good to. i rev it up to full throttle with 4 cells then with 6 i heard my motor hold the hell onto the cowch...waaaaaaa omg its faster.    very happy nice job finding that tut for it man ty very much
umm in that when he installs the body plug he connects the red wire running from the deans plug to the black wire on the evo is that right i thought it was always red to red black to blck?
were can i get that kit he was talking about he was like if you get my kit you get a spare deans plug so you can convert back to 4 cell cause im getting it yea its more weight then lions but who the hell cares it like dificulty level(not that thats dificult)
Yeah the guy who makes those is great, he makes those tuts for his ebay customers and the general public. For my 1st gen, thats the Tut i used(not the exact one but another made by him for gen1)
i just used some wires and a old AAA battery pack from a organizer
WOW ITS THE BEST MOD EVER I COULDNT KEAP THE TIRES ON....WOW I LOV IT WELL WORTH 1.00 and alittle time......well worth 20 bucks wow

im only using a stage 2

do i need to stack FETs to install 6cel?
Radio Shack.
i looked through the tutorial and im gonna get the deans plug from atomicmods but where can i get those things that are holding the batteries

yea, i found it, and did it in like 5 mins. the evos are alot easier to mod than the gen 1 i think
