I have just completed a project for my truck. It was to install a tow hitch on the rear of my truck bumper so I could tow my Corvette on a trailer. I have decided to post a tut on it.
Materials:
First, you need a trailer. I got mine from a Maisto model kit, but you can make one out of wood or tin or whatever you want.
Second, i got a...well, i dont know what to call it, but it is used as a steering part in 1/10 and larger RC cars. I used it as the tow ball on the rear bumper of my truck (youll see pix).
Then i got a power drill.
Steps:
First, you take the trailer and mount it to the rear bumper where you think you'll mount it and draw a circle with a pencil where youll drill a hole.
Second, before drilling, you make sure the trailer hitch and the ball can BOTH fit in the space of the bumper. I had to file down some of the trailer hitch AND remove the chrome "Truckin" license plate for it to fit.
Third, you drill away at the mark you made with the pencil. be sure that the drill bit size is the same size as the screw end on the hitch ball. Too small is ok (you can just widen it), but too big will be a major screw up!!
Fourth, you twist the ball into the hole you just drilled with tweezers or pliers.
Finally, mount the trailer onto the ball and you can tow anything under the weight of an xmod!

sorry about pic quality
wow, i have not checked this one in a while...the green gears are probly not the best idea because it would be more difficult for the truck to get going especially with the towing weight. It would be like trying to start riding your bike in the middle of an uphill in one of the highest gears. Altough the green gears help alot at the high speeds, they dont do much in the acceleration department, which can be needed when towing.
what u could use as a hitch is if u get a gpm front swing shaft for a gen 1 u could use the stock plastic 1, strip th little things that come out of it then paint it and follow his steps :D

I kind of like it, but use the Stage 2 Motor Upgrade and any of the GREEN gear configurations!
lol, thats what happens with trialers. same as in real life.

lol, thanks
there is a few severe problems with this though: because the combined weeight of the xmod and trailer i smore than the truck, the trailer almost controlls the truck when you turn and brake. this results in jack-knifes (sp?) and losing controll. also, the trailer often pops off when i go over a bump.
and despite AWD, lift, and stage 2 motor kit, these problems are still not fixed :(
thats the first hitch ive seen that looks like a hitch! i give you two props for that one
htats really cool, an real looking hitch ball. nice work there bud.

Noob will be noob, lol... let him be.
I didn't check this topic before... the hitch looks pretty scale (maybe a little too big?). Useful for all those with a realism-fetish, and want to tow their race cars around.
oh my god, the orange has more teeth on the big gear, that means higher gear ratio and more torque, green has less teeth, meaning lower gear ratio and more top speed.
orange combos
8-25 - 3.125
9-25 - 2.778
green combos
9-23 - 2.556
10-23 - 2.300
11-23 - 2.091
12-23 - 1.917
its common sense if you know about gear ratios
Green is used for torque and acceleration!
Orange is used for top speed!
YOU HAVE IT ALL WRONG!
According to the Stage 2 Instructions and the Super Street magazine that comes with all the Evo's, Green is for Speed, and Orange is for Torque.
