Intro: This tutorial will tell you how to create and host an image or picture in your signature (much like I have in my signature).

Part I: Creating the image from scratch (if you already have a signature image you would like to use, skip this part)

1) Open Adobe Photoshop (any version, some shortcuts may be different on older versions, for this I used CS)

2) Open your internet browser and find an image on the internet (try to find long and big images that can create a signature with about a 1:4 or 1:3 height-width ratio and good quality)

3) Paste the image in a new document in your paint program

4) Using the selection tool, select the picture like the image shown (try to make the selection as wide as possible and as close to the roof and bottom of the tire as possible, to fine tune the selection, go to Select>Transform Selection)

5) Press ctrl-c and ctrl-n to create a new document and paste the selection from step 4 into the document

6) Goto Image>Image Size and tweak it to a reasonable size with a high width-length ratio (640x400 should be a good limit, aim for about 400x100), and MAKE SURE that 'constration proportions' is checked

7) Press ctrl+a and goto edit>stroke (copy what is in the image)

8) Press shift+ctrl+L, alt+shift+ctrl+l, and shift+ctrl+b if needed. Fool around with them to adjust the color and shading.
9) Add text if needed.
10) Save it as a compressed .jpeg or some other type of small file, make sure that the file has good quality but try to get the size reasonably small (about 800 kb should be the greatest)
11) Enjoy!

Part II: Hosting

1) Open your internet browser and go to www.imageshack.us or www.tinypic.com
2) Host the image using the form
3) Copy (CTRL+C) the image URL (shouldn't have any tags, and should look something like this [without quotes]: "http://www.hostingsite.com/image.jpg")
4) Go to your Profile in the forum and go to your signature edit box
5) Type the following tags: [code:93b4dfeb87][img][/img][/code:1:93b4dfeb87]
6) Paste the URL (from step 3) between the two tags you just typed (it should look like this: [code:1:93b4dfeb87][/code:1:93b4dfeb87]
7) Save your changes and make a new post in the Test Forum

If all goes well, you should see the image in your signature.
If not, post here for more help or if you want me to make a signature for you.

This gives directions on creating a signature image and putting it in.
I created it because of the overwhelming amount of people not knowing how to put an image in their signature.

Maybe we could merge this thread with the other?
