OK this tut should turn your parts into a aluminum look. Trot down to your local hobby store and fetch some chrome or silver paint and a can of clear coat.. Take out the parts you want to paint. Make sure it is clean and free of paint. If you want you can primer the parts you are going to paint. Then Spray a few light coats of silver. Let to dry and make sure not to touch it. 30 minutes later make sure all the parts are covered in paint, if not respray. If all is covered take a can of clear coat spray it to the parts lightly. Wait until dry. If dry take a cloth of some sort and rub it against it to polish the part. Put everything back together and presto! here are some pics:
Srry for the photo size
I also messed up on the rear deck

omfg i love this idea ima do it tmrw
wow nice, it looks awsome.
I just chromed mine. they look like aluminum after being handled some if the paint doesnt come off.
I did this to one of my cars, and I have never had any problem with binding, and the paint has resisted rubbing off very well. The only problem I see with this tutorial is the suggestion to use clearcoat over silver or chrome. Bad idea! Silver, gold, and copper paints all react poorly to clearcoat, causing runs, blotches, and peeling, no matter how light of paint coats you are applying. To do this chassis painting technique, I highly reccomed Testor's Metalizer paints for airbrush. They are very thin, so they cause minimal friction and rub-off on moving parts. And because they are enamel paints, they are very durable. Just avoid clearcoats!
Here's my car. All paint, no aluminum.

You shouldn't paint any moving parts, the paint will cause them to bind (as rob already found out). Also, the paint will definately rub off the parts with use, making them look strange (and dirty).
Bad analogy rob, doing anything to any car does make a difference...might be small, might have a negative impact, but it's a difference.
ps. do note that if you end up painting a lot of stuff, you're adding a considerable amount of weight to the car which will kill your performance. the Ferrari F40 is a good example of this...
looks like some painted parts. lol. but yea i painted mine a different color. i think it looks better. i say y waste the time on paintin it silver when u can buy the real thing. its kinda like buyin a honda and putin a big spoiler and nice exaust on it. just realy does nothin for the car. but nice work. did u have problems with ur steering rod? wen i did mine i had problems cuz i painted the bottom of it and the chassis and that made them stick together. so i had to tear it apart and sand it down

looks good going to have to try that out.
