I draw up some Stock/Custom Chassis Templates on my PC - (Print-able Scaled Templates)

I though it would help ppls that want to make they own metal/ Carbon Fiber/ etc... Chassis's...

Will post more up as I finish them...

Re: Open Source - Chassis Templates

This topic is pretty old, but is there any templates for the Gen 1 rear deck?
Right now I have no rear decks and the only way I have been able to drive this is by this setup.

Re: Open Source - Chassis Templates

lol... I am not that hard to get a hold off... and I am really sorry for holding up the production of your PDF of my templates... damm... lol... if ppls want the templates I am sure they can get them from here...

and like I said I will be hosting them for download on my own website once I get it sorted, some of us have life outside of xmods to and I will get the new templates and add the "2x2" square added to the past ones for easy printing for them lazy ppls that can't resize them for them selfs...

Re: Open Source - Chassis Templates

Not all printers are going to have identical printer settings, and as such there is going to be a variance in resulting print sizes. Ive made a request for Nazcom to create an image of a 2"x2" square to print out for the purpose of settings calibration. If the square prints out true to 2x2 size, the rest of the images will be to spec on paper.

Unfortunately, he's not the easiest guy to get a hold of.

If any here know how to create the necessary 2"x2" calibration square, Id be really appreciative. Its the only thing hindering the posting of my PDF version of Naz's templates. The moment they are done, Ill be posting them publicly here.

sizing

Yeah that guy is right, it don,t print to scale. I printed the direct file too. do you know the actual dimensions i.e. width or length so that I can scale it down. Either way thanks I have been looking for these for every because I am designing a chassis. Thanks man.

Re: Open Source - Chassis Templates

Resize the file in your paint program until it prints out correctly... that's the only thing I can tell you. You could also tool around with the image resolution (pixels per inch) till it comes out right.

No. The batteries (AAA) are in holders located on the side of the chassis.

Re: Open Source - Chassis Templates

yeah sorry I forgot to say the best way to print them out at scale size...

Right Click on the image then > "Save Picture As..." > Open the saved image in MS Paint and then print it out via MS Paint... I have tested this and they print out to scale size...

Thanks...

Re: Open Source - Chassis Templates

You got it man. Credit is always paid where and when due.
It wont be a problem, Im not big on taking credit for other peoples work.

I will try to turn it to PDF, but adjusting the image sizes to match the original components will be rough. Having this to scale, and size is the reason why I want them in PDF format.

Are all the images done to the same scale size? Is the dimensional difference between the real parts and the images the same, for all the images?

Sorry for the multiple posts. From here in, Ill correspond with you via PM regarding this... - mech

Re: Open Source - Chassis Templates

Friggin nice, man. Great job scaling those out.

These should be in the tuts section, and are priceless as far as Im concerned.
These will save a lot of issues when attempting custom chassis fab mods and such. Do you mind if I post those as a PDF document?

Kudos - mech
