Step 1: Buy All Wheel Drive

Step 2: Remove the REAR dogbones

Step 2a: Remove wheel

Step 2b: Remove "disk brakes"

Step 2c: Remove berings

Step 2d: CAREFULLY remove dogbones

Step 3: repeat on the other side

This is my first tut on this site so any input would be greatly appreciated!

But with the truck, you need to clarify they you need the four wheel drive upgrade kit when removing the rear diff to make the truck front wheel drive

You just need the middle shaft (idler gear thing) and the shaft from the AWD kit, you can use the rear diff in the front with the dog bones.

Good job...it is a little pointless, but somebody had to put the tut. up here.

not too pointless if someone actually wanted to do this. And, no you cant just remove the rear differential because the motor would have no way to transfer that power. ITS AN EVO!!! look at the pics before you comment, duh.

I'M TALKING ABOUT AN EVO TRUCK, THINK BEFORE YOU POST, DUH!

On the truck you can...there's no need to be getting angry when you're wrong.

If somebody wanted to do it, it would still be pointless, FWD is terrible for these cars.

You should clarify that only works on Gen 1, not Evos

Re: RWD/AWD to FWD

FWD may not work for an Evo, but I have a Gen1 I converted to front wheel drive and it does good. If anyone is realy interested in doing it to a Gen1, I could do a tutorial on it.
My Gen1 FWD took 2nd place in the 2WD stock motor class at our club monthly meeting when I tried it out.

Re: RWD/AWD to FWD

i know some guy thinks he can drift with it! thats why i did the tut, because he really wanted to know and no one would help him out much. And, he was kinda hopeless.

Re: RWD/AWD to FWD

problem with front wheel drive is, it doesnt work so good. I tried it before u did the tut and it turned out that it couldnt really even move at all. theres like exactly no grip to it.

Re: RWD/AWD to FWD

BlackMustang, you said to buy 4wheel drive kit, but you never said to install it. Some of the people who may need this basic of a tutorial may need to be told to install the 4wheel drive.LOL

Hey, hope to see you the begining of sumer to race.

Shrink the size of the pictures. Other than that it's a good tutorial.
But I must say: If anyone needs a tutorial on how to convert to FWD, they have no common sense and will not succeed in life if they have needed this tutorial...
None-the-less, good write up. ;)

theres some guy in General xmods who tried to convert to FWD like i showed, minus the AWD stuff  !
