hey guys well ive decided to hack in this tutorial, I want to see more vehicles with this mod on to be honest.

first thing's first
apply PPE and bring work shop to operational standerds
safety goggles, dust pan and brush (haha :D)
retrieve all tools and equipement
your tailpipe/s
your car body/kit peice
tweesers
dremel, or other cutting tool able to take away the licence plate
various dremel peices
file and sandpaper. (preferably a needle file or the one off the xmods tool kit might be ok)
and a spot where you wont get distracted but has lots of light

ok first things first, clean up your body/kit make sure theres no debree or foreign inbeded bodies (such as swarf, dirt) and most importantly
DO NOT WEAR GLOVES
gloves can get caught in the dremel and couse serious harm.
also cleaning the body/kit will give you a more clear view of detail upon your work

"cleaning the bumper" ^

ok start dremeling at the back of the area taking your time with strokes, do not dab the dremel onto the plastic, this will create bumps and make the effect upon the look of the exterior of the bumpy, I also used the slowest speed just so that I can take my time with it, and avoid mistakes.

in this video it bassicly shows

me romoving the center screw hole position to allow me to get into the back of the number plate

[]I dremeled out the hole at the top where if it was a real car, you would put your hand under there to release the boot, this is just novetly[/:u:dd97c3a41b]

[]I dremel the rear licence plate slowly in a back and forth motion[/:u:dd97c3a41b]

[="Red"]I ALSO SHOW YOU WHAT NOT TO DO![/]

[]you see me putting the dremel through the front of the licence plate, do not do that, its unnecesery and causes damage to the outside of the bumper, which you dont want.[/:u:dd97c3a41b]

[]I also start banging it, this is also highly unrecomended, as this can cause the bumpy effect you dont want.[/:u:dd97c3a41b]

"inside view after dremeled" ^

at this point you may have some excess plastic on certain parts of the body kit. with your tweesers just plug them off of file them away. using a dremel would be too risky.

"plucking the plastic" ^

"inside view" ^

"outside view" ^

ok its coming along nicely, but now we have to find where to mount the tailpipe/s. so what i did with the Integra Type R (or Acura RSX) is taped the top parts of the exhaust together

"untaped exhausts" ^

"taped exhausts" ^

now to fix it onto the shell! you bassicly need to but glue or in this case, i used sticky back plastic (for demonstration puroses) apply your adhesive onto the middle rear screw mount, then stick your exhausts onto it (using an integra type r/rsx shell). A good tip is to remove the rear clip and gluing the exhausts on AFTER you reattach the bumper, and you can adjust it to its spot on in the middle. :)

"adhesive applied" ^

"inside view of stuck exhasusts" ^

"outside view of stuck on exhausts" ^

"inside view with bumper attached" ^

"outside view with bumper attached" ^

and you have your rear tailpipes.

"bask in its glory!" ^

if you have any questions please ask, as constructive questions will only make this tutorial better! ;)

IMO, It gives it a more race car style look, especially for the evo 8's JGTC bodykit (the wild kit)

It looks good in my opinion. It gives it a kind of rally-style feeling to it.

Re: I call it, the tailpipe through the number plate mod.

I did this tut last night, but i used the tool kits hand drills and file and a little bit of knifing. Unfortunatly, my school is as parinoid as communist Russia, so my access to photobucket is now blocked (along with myspace, yahoo/google/msn/email access, all my known proxys, import tuner's site...but thankfully not this one :D )

EDIT: Pics now!

Great tut, I've been waiting for someone to do one like this for a while. I wonder if a side pannel system would be fesable...
