Idrift - There are many different ways to get to the Servo/POT of the XT. First, take off the front casing like you're getting to the front differential, behind that there are three more screws. Two above where the differential goes, and one right next to where the gear was. And if you want to remove that, you need to take the EP cover off and desolder the according wires.

Here's a tut:
1.) Find proper, non-starter-kit screwdriver.
2.) Start taking stuff apart.
3.) Fix whatever problem.
4.) Start screwing stuff together.
You need the front diff assembly apart and you need the mainboard cover off.. What are you trying to do?
