Painted concrete?

Is painted concrete a good surface to make a track on? If so, what should I use as a barrier, something I can pick up and store in a cupboard would be ideal.

unfortunately the open concrete area. I could clear out more though, I guess.

What's too small? The concrete area or the pieces of hardwood?

Tried it today with leftover pieces of hardwood, It's just to small. dang.
