well,

i've put a little bit of thought into what constitutes an xmod buildoff and here's what I've come up with...

1. Scale must be between 1/24th to 1/28th
2. Xmod based parts from either gen1 or Evo must be used in the construct
3. Power sources are open
4. Electronics can be xmod based but can also be aftermarket

Other than that, we are going to have a creativity fest! I think that if we leave the rest open we can get some awesome ideas rolling in the neighborhood...

Our first annual buildoff will start on July 1st and continue until the end of the year(dec31, 2008). In that time membership that frequent can start their own threads in the buildoff subforum and will have plenty of time and opportunity to get involved in their creative process.

There will be a prize for the best build!(out of my own pocket since I'm basically the only guy keen on starting this)

So start putting the thinking caps into overdrive...I want to see some wild schemes come from our community to prove to everyone that xmods are not dead...just resting.

Re: The rules!

Well, it seems that an extension is in order...

New deadline for finishing work to a provable running creation is April 1, 2009.

Re: The rules!

Extension, I had to put my expensive build on hold to finish the CST10.

Re: The rules!

Well, it seems that we may need an extension for this buildoff.

From the review of threads, it appears that we may only have one or two fully completed entries for consideration. In that case, I'd like to extend the deadline to get at least four entries finished for voting consideration.

Any opions or shall I just hack on an extension?

I'll give everyone a couple days to chime in.

Re: The rules!

I don't see why not...only finished and working/running entries will be considered for the voting.

Re: The rules!

Question, would DMX be elligable, even if it has hobby electronics?

edit: screw me sideways, I can enter DMX...

Might as well get back on it.. Though i think my RX died since the last time it was used.

Re: The rules!

Darn, my Xmod project is closer to 1/60th scale. Guess I'll have to find another place to post it...

Re: The rules!

I might actually be able to compete in this. The only problem is money, there's no lack of time.

Re: The rules!

Awesome! I'll have to figure something... maybe finish the Buick for xms, but polish... err redneck it up further for this?

Too bad the DMX with full hobby stuff can't enter.
