This is only half of a two car's I'm building. I've always wanted to make something with adjustable ride height. As far back as Nivlac's magnaride is when I remember us really chattin' about this.
Few nights ago while talking to Noturday, I came up with this:

Changes to the design involves using Micro-T shocks instead of the linkage between the cantilever and servo for suspension, Color0's idea.
I will be implementing this on two projects, a mid 90s Chevy longbed, and a 53 Ford Victoria (will be total hot rod, with flat paint, scallops, and sitting on fat white walls).
First up comming in next week with the Micro-T shocks is the Longbed Silverado:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180274920062&ssP...
Got the truck comming, and will set that pontiac aside.
Don't ask me for paint ideas or anything of the sort, I have NO idea what I'm doing with it. I will use the UnS10ppable's chassis with the offroad upgrade in place. I'm going to experiment with flipping the control arms for some drop, and then place in the stock top plates. This will hopefully allow the tires to also tuck in when lowered, since the control arms are longer then the top plates... So when lowered they'll kick the bottom of the tires out.
The 53 Victoria is a few weeks away ATM though:

The control for the servos will probably just be from a switch box for now. No RC remote, but will plug into the car.
This is the only place I've posted it publically, and have only shown it to a few to get ideas going. Keep this on the down low.
It;s our own XMW secret
But, I don't have the money to finish DMX... Need chassis material, rx/tx, esc, motors, and li-po, all of which is very far out of my budget, vs the $40 or so that will be spent with this. :(

Got the servos finally. Then got busy and shelved it. Now I've got some work done?!
How were sittin with the new mount system before I shimmed it enough to drop the rear and cleared the tires so they run deep into the bed. The front was trimmed up more so now it's at full drop. Just need to mod the tie rod more to get rid of the toe at full drop.
And about how it will sit at ride height:

Got the parts I needed. Where's a good place to order styrene from?

Servos are ordered!
Took awhile to get back on this having to wait for $$$ and Hurricane Ike caused me to shelve this while family stayed.

SLAMMED TRUCKS FTW!!!! nice man. really looking forward to seeing this one finished. looks good so far. could you get a pic of the ront lower arms, i can't fiqure out how you hooked that wire up.
later T.I.M
I can't wait to have money!
Need to buy some servos and supplies to continue this more. 30ish bucks. Or a tank of gas.

Dang Texan, that's friggin cool! I can't wait to see more 8) .
So this is where it is... I was wondering what was with that truck you had in your signature on XMS... You should put some sparklers on the back when you're finished, put in on full throttle and start draggin that rear 8)
Thanks!

Video of some bit of the cantilever action, in action.

Looking like a good start, texan. :D
Worked out the cantilever links to the front suspension to get it to tuck into the cab. Also cut the bed to get the rear end hovering less then an 1/8th inch off the ground at full drop. By lifting the front up, the rear bumper drags! Also have begun work on the rear cantilever and servo setup. Using a propulse micro servo for mock-up. I'll have videos of some of the stuff in a bit.
Will also have to work something out to hold the knuckle at top.
Onto the rear end:

The spring in the 2nd pic will of course be on the servo... then the linkage hanging would be bent into the cantilever. from there it will connect to the linkage in the rear:
The cantilever will push that U shaped piece down, which pushes the suspension down, and lifts the car up.

You can see the start of the rear suspension, gotta tweak the front's cantilever links to work around the body some:
Still have a LOT of cutting in the bed to tuck the rear end in

I think I know what you should do for the truck. You have a redneck car, now you need a redneck truck
With gas prices dropping by the day here in TX, maybe sometime soon

This looks like it's going to be good :)
I was hoping that you were going to do the DMX, but ya gotta make do with what ya got.
I was showing it to a few for some further Ideas. Like Color0 mentioning to use shocks instead of linkage to save suspension action.
Can't wait to start as well.

Well, Looks like you've been going with this idea afterall But i didn't expect to see it in the buildoff
Can't Wait to see how it actually performs tho]
Have fun!
